Background

A decorated officer and Lieutenant-Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces with more than 35 years of helicopter operations and leadership experience, Martin Pesant is the President of Crown Aviation Holdings Inc. and leads the integration of acquired businesses while preserving the culture, people, and customer relationships that have made them successful.

 

Drawing upon a storied aviation career spanning deployments in Haiti, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, the High Arctic, and elsewhere around the world in support of UN, NATO, and Canadian missions globally, Martin is exceptionally well known and highly respected as a thought leader, expert, and industry veteran with his experience as squadron commanding officer and senior staff within the RCAF.

 

With more than 3,000 military flying hours spanning seven different types of fixed-wing and helicopter aircraft, with his extensive executive leadership experience rooted in flight operations, maintenance coordination, aviation training, safety management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, Martin is uniquely qualified to lead the implementation of standardized operating practices across our portfolio. 

 

As President of Crown Aviation, Martin is primarily responsible for the integration of acquired companies into developing a cohesive portfolio while strengthening their respective and collective operating practices to realize operating efficiencies at scale and thereby maximizing shareholder value.

 

Based in Montréal, Québec, Martin holds a Bachelor of Military Arts and Science and a Master of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada.  A graduate of the Canadian Forces Joint Command and Staff Program, Martin has also completed numerous advanced aviation leadership and command programs.
